Day 3: A Day at Ocean Park

We played in the Ocean Park today. On our way to the Ocean Park, we saw our buddies in the bus next to ours. When we saw them, they wave happily to us and they made us even more excited for the trip. When we reach there, we took group photos and then started our day.

We were split into two groups and were brought to different rides. The Ocean Park was pretty interesting as part of the park was located on the other mountain. We took the cable car up the mountain and tried all the rides there.

When we were in the cable car, the scenery that we saw was really beautiful and it is really different from Singapore.  The breeze up there was very fresh and it was also very cooling. When we reached the top, it was pretty empty as we were early. The rides that we took were thrilling and we hesitated a lot before riding it. But all thanks to our buddies who gave us a lot of courage, we went on the ride. The rides were pretty similar to the ones in Singapore. However the rides were a little more thrilling than the ones in Singapore as we are at a greater height.
After playing for a long period of time, we were all really hungry and we decided to eat at the MacDonald’s. Our buddies helped us order our food as we could not speak Cantonese. We bonded a lot with our buddies when we ate our lunch together. They taught us a little Cantonese so that were will be able to communicate with the others next time. We had a lot of fun while learning from them as our pronunciations were very weird and they do not understand us at all.
After eating, we went to look at the different animals in the Ocean Park. We first went to their underwater world was very interesting as it had three different levels and the lower we went, the larger the fishes. Our buddies told us to be more careful and to walk closely with them as it was quite crowded.
Next, we went to look at the pandas. The red pandas were very cute! They were smaller in size as compared to the normal pandas.

After looking at the pandas, we went to look at the dolphin show. Not only the dolphins were there, the seals were also there to perform. The dolphins were rather well-trained as they obediently followed the hand signals shown by the trainers throughout the performance. The performance that left me with the deepest impression was when two people from the audience were given the privilege to be on the performing platform to get close to the dolphins and seals. They were asked to shake hands with the animals. One of the trainers demonstrated how to kiss the seal and the audiences was asked to do likewise. While trying to do so, he accidentally fell into the water. The trainers got the seal to deliver the lifebuoy to the man. However, the seal failed to do so. The dolphin rescued the man who was drowning and he just lay on the dolphins back while he was being brought ashore.
At last, it was time to head back to the entrance as we were all about to leave the Ocean Park. We bid farewell to our buddies and we went to have our dinner.
We went to a restaurant which was quite near to the Ocean Park. There were about seven different dishes and all of them taste pretty good. We were given some time to go to the supermarket to get some fruits.
Soon, we were on our way back to our hostel. Our journey back was pretty quiet as we believe that all of us were very tired after playing for the whole day. Overall, the day spent with our buddies was very fun and we look forward to the upcoming days that we will be spending with them!
